Decades Lookbook: The 1910's


 The 1910's continued the conservative lifestyles of the Victorian and Edwardian eras during the first half of the decade.  Following the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand (presumptuous heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne) on June 28, 1914, the first World War broke out in Europe just 33 days later on August 1, 1914.  The war dragged on until a truce was declared on November 11, 1918 leading to the signing of the one-sided Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919.

Besides the Great War, other notable events during this decade was the sinking of the most luxurious ship at the time, the RMS Titanic in 1912, the completion of the Panama Canal in 1914 and the discovery of Machu Picchu in 1911.

I based three sims off of fictional, but historically accurate characters based in the 1910s: Bert and Mary Poppins from Mary Poppins and Rose from Titanic. Since I am not great at recreating actual people in the sims, I used MasterDave_X's 'Kate Winslet' and melpomenemusa's 'Mary Poppins' as bases for two of my sims.

I created four sims for this lookbook (from left to right, first photo): Rose, Bert, Mary and Mildred; that's the order you'll find their CC.

      Thank you for letting me know! I was able to recover a link for the Titanic Conversion dress, but not the Titanic Boarding Suit unfortunately :( The post has been updated!
